Privacy notice

The Sign Hub respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, ask us for a quote or order from us, what we use it for, and the choices you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who we are

What we collect, and why

  • Quote requests. Your name, business, email address and phone number, the service you need, the quantity or size, when you need it and what you tell us about the job. We use it to prepare and send your quote. You and we each get a copy by email.
  • Orders. When you accept a quote: your quote, order, artwork and proofs, invoices and payments, and the details needed to deliver it. If we courier your order, the courier (Pudo or The Courier Guy) receives what it needs to deliver it.
  • Your account. Your email address, so we can email you a sign-in link (there is no password) to see your quotes, orders, proofs and invoices.
  • Visit statistics. We count page views, time on a page, clicks on our phone number, email, WhatsApp and Facebook links, and quote forms, on our own server and without cookies. We do not store your IP address: each day a visitor is given a code made from the date, the IP address and the browser, which changes the next day, so nobody can be followed from day to day. We also keep the website you came from, any campaign tags in the link, and the type of device, browser, operating system and screen size. Nothing is counted when your browser sends “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control.
  • Advertising and analytics, only if you agree. See Cookies below.

We only use your information for the reasons above and to keep the records the law requires. We do not sell it.

Cookies and similar storage

  • Needed for the site to work (always on): a sign-in cookie when you sign in to your account, and small notes your browser keeps for this site, for example that it has visited before and your cookie choice.
  • Advertising and analytics (only if you click “Accept”): Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. They set cookies that tell us which adverts and pages bring people to the site and whether they asked for a quote, and they let Google and Meta show our adverts to people who visited. Google and Meta process this information under their own privacy policies: Google, Meta.

Until you choose, and if you decline, none of these tags load. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page (shown while the site uses these tags).

How long we keep it

Quotes, orders and invoices are kept for as long as we need them to serve you and for the period the law requires us to keep business and tax records. Visit statistics are kept as counts that do not identify you.

How we protect it

The website is served over HTTPS only. Your information is kept on our web server, outside the public part of the website, and only the people who run the shop can sign in to see it. Shop logins for the owners use two-step sign-in.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to us using it, including for direct marketing. Email sales@thesignhub.co.za. If you are not happy with how we handled it, you may complain to the Information Regulator.
